      To make Delhi - Power Surplus
CORPORATE NEWS
  • IT Department is organising an Open Computer Competition for evaluation of Computer Skills of employees of IPGCL / PPCL in the month of November 2007.
  • Pragati Power Corporation Ltd. has handed over a dividend cheque of Rs. 21.96 Crores to Chief Minister of Delhi on 17.10.2007.
  • Gas Sale Agreement for 1500 MW (Nominal) Pragati III Power Project at Bawana has been signed between PPCL and off-takers GAIL India Limited, IOC Limited & BPCL on 09.10.2007.
  • Foundation Stone of 1500 MW Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Station has been laid at Jhajjar in Harayana by Smt. Sonia Gandhi on 07.10.2007. Delhi will get 750 MW power from this project.
  • A joint venture agreement among HPGCL, IPGCL and NTPC Ltd. was signed on 14th December 2006 for setting up of a 1500 MW coal based power plant in distt. Jhajjhar, Haryana
  • IPGCL and PPCL have filed Multi Year Tariff (MYT) Petition for the control period of 2007-08 to 2010-2011 within the stipulated time period.
  • The NIT for the Design, Supply & Installation etc. of 1500 MW (Nominal) Capacity PRAGATI - III Gas Based Combined Cycle Power Project on turnkey basis at Bawana, Delhi, India has been issued.
  • Draft PPA for the Aravali Power Project has been signed between NTPC, IPGCL and three DISCOMS.
  • The Delhi Government issued Policy Directions to DERC on June 28, 2006 as per which w.e.f. 1st April 2007, DTL would engage only in wheeling of power and also operate as the SLDC, and would cease its activities of bulk purchase and sale of power. The existing Power Purchase Agreement with DTL has been assigned to DISCOMS.
  • Power Purchase  Agreement between PPCL & DTL took place for purchase of power from Pragati Power Station (Capacity 330 MW).
  • Power Purchase  Agreement between IPGCL & DTL took place for purchase of power from Rajghat Power Station (Capacity 135 MW), IP Station(Capacity 247 MW) & Gas Turbine Power Station(Capacity 282 MW).
  • Intra State ABT – Intra State ABT has been introduced in Delhi w.e.f. 1.4.2007 on the basis of DERC’s order dated 31.3.2007..
  • Rajghat Power Station has generated 3.322 MU on 8th December 2006 which is the highest ever generation since installation.
  • An MOU for the supply of gas has been signed with M/s PETRONET LNG Ltd. on 27th October 2006 for Pragati II and III projects.
